Me, Myself and I!

Software + My Personal Rating

Fuse – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

MakeHuman – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Poser – 🤷🏻‍♀️

First, I’d like to shed the light on the fact that this is my first blog post using my brand-new windows laptop (recommended by Alvaro 🙏🏼!!).

Initially, I wanted to try DAZ 3D, but I think something went wrong mid downloading it, and now the default path doesn’t lead to any of the assets.

So, thought of trying out 2 brand new ones (to me), and Adobe Fuse as well because I love it so much, and I miss using it.

On Fuse, choosing a hairstyle was the trickiest part due to the lack of variety, but every single thing is customizable! This avatar (picture below) doesn’t really look like me, but maybe is the closest to my silhouette.  The sad part was my excitement when I found a mask that I can wear so I don’t spread some virtual germs around.

MakeHuman was relatively easy to use, I felt like I had so much control over what I was doing. Only one thing bothered me, which was specifying the race with every skin tone AND not listing all the races!

My avatar on this software looks a bit weird! I couldn’t control the spacing between the arms and the torso, which made me look angry and about to start a fight. I also struggled with the selection of hairstyles, and this is coming from me! I have the most basic hairstyle in the world! But for some reason, I couldn’t find it on any of the softwares I used for this assignment.

I’m glad I used fuse in the beginning because I wouldn’t really count what I did on Poser as something. I simply couldn’t use it. It’s too advanced for my skills and require some external files to import and create a decent avatar.
